Founded in 2021/2 through a direct request to Brownbaby from staff of the Ladbroke Grove station leadership team and a simultaneous bid by RBKC for GLA funding that brought in Energy Garden.
Brownbaby were introduced to underused spaces at three local stations. A partnership was formed, GLA funding was reallocated to include Brownbaby and a local community steering group was formed, with the purpose of steadily increasing community access and leadership of the spaces.
Photographs below show the development of the spaces at Ladbroke Grove and Latimer Road, including community days for clear up, planting and arts; improving access routes; and relocating a garden from the Chelsea Flower Show.
